On the fifth day of Inkvent my Calendar gave to me…this brilliant purple tinged shimmer, Ice Lilac, versatile and playful!Since I do these in one take on-the-fly, I expect the unexpected, and so this phrase was chosen accordingly. 

When I do these my rule is I post them ‘warts and all’ (barring ruinous water spills).So 仕方がない - Shikata ga nai, or ‘it can’t be helped’ - the Japanese practice of aligning yourself to the situation you’re in - feels right.I apologise to Japanese speakers everywhere for my crude but enthusiastic rendering!
 
These original, one-off ink pieces of art were created on a daily basis from my Inkvent Calendar in December 2024, a countdown to Christmas containing 25 newly-created coloured inks found behind every window. Each piece is signed, dated and embossed.

A portion of all proceeds from the sale of these pieces is donated to The Trussell Trust, the UK's food bank network.

Please note I no longer offer prints of these pieces, only originals. This is because they increasingly have special metallic or otherwordly finishes that can't be reproduced as well as I'd like in print. However, if you really want one of a particular piece, you can ask me for a custom order.
